Belief, that was the topic that I decided on. Not that it is particularly controversial, per se, but each individual in our class did have their own personal viewpoint on the subject.
A person believes what they want to – whether it be there is a place we go after we die, or the simple thought of fate for its offering of answers to the unknown.
There are three things we discussed majorly, then they – somewhat – bled in to each other. They are Fate, Heaven/Hell/place after death and Purpose of Life. As I mentioned in the beginning, everyone has their own opinion, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and belief.
FATE
There were certain people who believed that such a thing as fate existed, but there are people who opposed the idea of fate. Members of our class who supported the idea of fate put forth ideas that life was pre-determined, set in stone long before it happened; they also mentioned such things as fate can be in the romantic sense.
Ideas that opposed thought of fate also opposed the idea that our life is pre-determined, that any little thing can change what will happen. These members did not believe in fate, because – I think – one person did put forward, you can make your own fate, path in life – no one else would be able to control it. Only you.
With the for, and against of the idea of Fate, the idea that your life is sorted and all you have to do is live it, my own personal opinion is that though the idea of fate is nice, to have yourself sorted for eternity is nice, I just don’t believe it, because every little thing changes a circumstance. But that is just one person’s opinion.
Heaven and Hell – the idea
Heaven, Hell, A place we go after we die.
People who were against, or who did not believe this did bring up a point such as though it would be nice to say there is a place to go after death, it just isn’t fathomable in some people’s minds. But people who opposed the thought of Heaven, Hell or what not, did say things such as Reincarnation, the soul being reborn amongst other ideas.
People who believed in Heaven, in Hell or the inbetween, said the age-old idea that when they die, they believe that they’d be re-united with their loved ones – such as family members, friends and so on. The people who firmly believed in Heaven also strongly believed in Hell.
My personal opinion on this topic was that I do firmly believe in Heaven and in Hell. I believe that – one day – I will be reunited with family, and with people who are dearly beloved to me.
Life – Does it have a purpose?
This topic, also the final one of this post, brung around certain ideas, and also brought up Existentialism, basically why are we here, or what is the point of existing.
In the people who said life did have a purpose, they mentioned opinions like life is meant for something, not to be squandered, and it is a great thing to have – also that one opinion brought up that animals, plants, any organism that existed had a purpose.
As always, there were people who somewhat disagreeed – not in the sense that life has no purpose, or that no one should live – but in the point of people making their own purpose. Those who disagreed also brought up opinions that life is yours, and you make your own way – somewhat relating back to the other point earlier of whether life was pre-determined.
I believe that every single living thing has a purpose, a reason. I cannot explain it, because it is just my belief.
That was the discussion for that one Friday, oh, sorry for the lateness, dutiful readers I hope you can share your own opinions with us.

Greetings,
It is an interesting debate which you conducted, I must say. But I believe that most of these categories, are related with each other and could be answered once your mind is made up to the question: “Is there a purpose to life, or not?” This then cover life, faith and its sub-category of heaven and hell. The one problem which I believe we face when debating the idea of a God is, that if there is an all knowing God or Gods – as described in many religions, including Christianity-, free-will would be impossible. (An all-knowing God would know what will happen, before it happens) Anyway, this is just another argument placed on your minds, to help you contemplate your own beliefs.
